While some of the science is new, most of the principles are not. Taking steps to insure our environment for our children and theirs is not just a moral obligation, but also makes good sense economically. Smart design choices can save significantly on life-cycle cost, by minimizing energy use which in turn saves money on up-front systems. Using durable materials reduces the time and cost associated with maintenance over the life of the building. |
